This year we decided to keep Christmas Day very simple. Instead of spending money on lots of gifts for each other, we spent time giving to other people. We took presents along to the children’s ward at the local hospital and many plants along to the geriatric ward. We also put together a couple of hampers for people, who would otherwise not have all the Christmas treats we take for granted. And gave homemade gifts to friends (I’ve been knitting lots of hats), it really has been my favourite part of Christmas. A complete joy, to see how a simple visit or gesture can bring so much happiness to someone else ... wish so much we could do more.
Now with a lovely ham in the oven, it’s time to relax, spend time with each other and open some gifts. I was absolutely delighted, to get this gorgeous hand felted Niffler from my daughter, it must have taken her ages to make. He’s so cute and came with a little pouch full of shiny chocolate coins. She knows me well, I’m still smiling ... 😃
Anyway, from our family to yours, Happy Christmas and love and best wishes for the New Year ahead. X
