I may be strange, but I love this time of year. I love the shorter days and the darker evenings … just having a chance to slow down and be with the people I love. It’s so cosy and quiet … peaceful. It’s so nice to be able to sit by the fire again and read a good book. To spend more time crafting, cooking and baking. It just makes me happy … 😊
On that note, it’s long been a tradition in our family to make homemade birthday cakes. I have fond memories from my childhood of the beautiful cakes my Mum would bake. I really wanted to pass that along … so here’s a quick peek at the “Bothy Cake” with sheep, I made for my daughter this year. I had such fun making it with my son, everyone chipped in to make it a special memory. So much love went into it and I’ll never forget the smile on my daughter’s face … 😊🥰
